I live in NSW, Australia. I love exploring textile arts. I enjoy making art quilts incorporating beading and contemporary embroidery. I also like dabbling in painting and Mixed Media collage. I love colour. I'm inspired by nature, music and locations like India, Nepal, Bali, Thailand, Morocco and South America. I love meeting people from all over the world, so thank you for dropping by to read my blog.
When I was in Nepal I bought this wall hanging and some other bits and pieces that I wanted to show you. I love the colours, materials and beading used on this piece. Here are some more detailed photos. These look like exotic buildings.
I also got a material panel that is big enough to use as a table cloth.
This is a table runner I bought in Lukla. Its not a great photo and only shows half of it. But you can get the idea. The designs are embroidered on. I love the colours of this scarf. Also I got this cute little purse in Namche Bazaar.
The colours in this wall hanging blend together really well - it seems to have a softness about it. I am intrigued by the way they always piece their fabrics together with a common binding fabric - looks great. I have a similar large wall hanging (I bought about 15years ago) in browns, oranges, reds and golds which I should post for you to look at. Like yours it is truely a work of art but with less beading.
