Bead Journal Project 3 - January

January - Sunrise at Corindi Beach

This is my January piece - I'm running behind but hope to catch up in the next few months. Each of my pieces are going represent an experience I've had during that particular month.
Each of my pieces are going to incorporate beading with embroidery, etc. I'm hoping to incorporating some more elaborate beading in the other pieces as I go along.
I was going to bead around the edges of this, but I've decided that when I finish at the end of the year, I will join them all together to make a wall hanging, so I will do some beading around the edges of the finished piece.

this is really great! i was just looking at another page that has fibers in it, and i think it's so beautiful how you can incorporate it into your pieces. i've never tried it before, and i've got fiber envy! :) this is a beautiful journal page.

OOoooh, Barbara, you've totally captured the peaceful glow of sunrise on an east facing beach! I love it! I love all the stitching, the raw edges, the glorious colors, the texture of the seaweed and waves, the joy in the whole piece! Bravo!

I love your piece and your idea of incorporating stitching and painting into your designs. My husband and I took a trip to Australia and New Zealand last year and seeing your piece made me want to go back there. Gita

Lovely piece! I love the colors and textures.

Also, thanks for the inspiration from your 2/24 post (how could I resist that cup?) of gorgeous fiber art. I am definitely wanting to try some of this out.

I love the way you've created the whitecaps on the waves and the whimsy of the beaded rays of the sun. What a yummy piece! Great start to a year of beaded fun!
