I recently bought this gorgeous Vintage Sari Border from Rayela on Etsy. It is so beautiful that I can't bring myself to cut it up just yet. The photo doesn't really show up the lovely gold colour that well. I'm thinking maybe I could incorporate it into a wall hanging, make a runner for the end of my bed or some cushions. I'll just have to see.
If you're interested in finding out more Rachel did a blog post on them on her blog Rayela's Fibre Focus. If you are interested in Ethnic textiles arts you will love her blog and also her Etsy shop.

Hi Barbara
The Vintage sari border is beautiful. I have a collection of these myself and are one of my most favourite things to create with. Am looking forward to seeing your piece using the braid. I am about to post another piece almost finished using some of this braid. See my blog (Moroccan Bellydancer's Wardrobe).
Cheers. Suzy
Thanks so much for posting this, Barbara! I really appreciate the mention of my shop and blog...
The sari borders really are lovely, but do not approach them with fear! Start with a small piece of it and see where it takes you. I bet all kinds of inspiration will flood your mind and you will know exactly what to do with it!
A wonderful piece...I cringe too at the thought of cutting it. But I'm sure you'll create something even more beautiful with it.
