I've Missed Stitching!!

This is my latest creation.

I've really missed doing embroidery and beading. I haven't attached it all together yet. I'm going to attach it to the purple silk background and then stitch it onto the painted canvas. Its only a small piece and the canvas is 6 x 6.

It is really beautiful. I like the idea of stitching it to a canvas. THis would make it really easy to display.

Thanks for your comments Linda, Mary and Suzan. It wasn't a very good photos I used, I think I need some photography lessons. Suzan, I haven't stitched anything to canvas before so I'm interested in seeing how it turns out. It will make it alot easier to display though. Barb

So glad that you're free from that horrible dust at last, and able to get back to your stitching.

Hi Barbara, firstly thanks for the comment on mine, you would really appreciate Robin's book if you decide to buy it. It was $32.95 + postage from Essential Textile Art.

I've brought your photo here up to full size and it really deserves to be seen up close, there is so much fine detail. It's very lovely.
Can i just suggest that you hold your camera right over the top, ie at 90 degrees to the object rather than in front or at the end of it as you did here. Or, hang it and hold the camera right in front of it and as close as your camera will allow. That way you will avoid that foreshortening and narrowing effect. Also i photograph outside in evenly distributed light, but not sun, such as under the pergola, that way i avoid shadows and dark spots. Of course the best thing is to use a tripod to avoid hand shake and blurring. But having said all that, you did pretty well here, it's quite 'readable'.
I've just about removed all that that mud, not dust, too. It wasted so much time.

Barb, this piece is SO BEAUTIFUL. I have never tackled sewing silk but this seems to be the perfect textile for the base of your piece!

I realize I am checking in here late but clicked on your tag word "embroidery" (because I'm learning how to stitch) and oh my goodness, I found this post... May I ask a question? What kind of paint did you use to paint your canvas? I am mounting my Bead Journal pages in a similar way this year & I'm clueless about what to use on the canvas...

Thank you so much and I am really looking forward to enjoying more of your work!
